AFTER HOURS MEDICAL EMERGENCY

Our phones are answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you have an emergency medical problem that requires calling us after hours, our answering service will relay your call to the physician on duty.

When help arrives, proceed to one of the following hospitals that also contracts with your insurance plan: Baylor-All Saints Episcopal Hospital, Harris Methodist-Fort Worth or HCA Plaza Medical Center.

To ensure that you and your family receive the best possible care when calling the doctor after hours, please remember. . .

  • Physicians are available for emergencies

  • Sedatives and narcotics pain relievers will not be filled after hours. Because of their potential for abuse they can only be filled by your own physician during regular working hours.

  • Before placing your call to the physician on duty have a list of your medicines and dosages available and inform your physician of any drug allergies you have.

  • Take your temperature if you think you have a fever

  • Please have a phone number available of a pharmacy that is open 24 hours
